Terms of Service

By booking with The Motor Spa you must agree to our terms of service. If you have any queries regarding these please get in touch.

Our terms of service can be found below or at our premises, where a paper copy can be read through.

VALETING & DETAILING PAYMENTS

All payments for any valeting, detailing or paint repair work must be made in full to The Motor Spa limited within 24hours of invoice. Failure to comply will result in a 5% PER DAY late payment charge.

Failure to make payment of invoice & late payment charges within 28 days will result in legal action.

SMART PAINT REPAIRS & WHEEL REFURBISHMENTS

We use a process called ‘SMART’ repairs, this process enables us to carry out small to medium repairs to vehicle damage, such as bumper scuffs, light panel damage and paint imperfections in a localised area.

This avoids painting entire panels like would be required in a bodyshop, thus giving a much more budget friendly approach to a bodyshop.

Visually - 90-95% improvement to the damaged area, if you require 100% paint repair then please seek bodyshop advise.

Colour Match - All paint is mixed off site in an independent factory, we use the manufacture supplied paint code to order paints in. A vehicles paint code is traditionally in a door jamb or boot floor.

We always advise paint match will be around 95%.  100% paint match will be aimed for but never guaranteed due to the vehicle itself, I.e weathering of panels, previous paint repairs and slight differences in factory paints.

If you desire a 100% paint match to a specific area we request removal of a part, I.e filler cap or wing mirror cover, which will then be sent off and scanned and the paint mixed to that exact shade. With this process we must order in a MINIMUM of 500ml paint, should this be desired an additional £50+ VAT is payable.

Alloy wheel paints are subject to inspection, more often than not these do not have a paint code or paint ID number.

Alloy wheel refurbishment is subject to an inspection, some diamond cut wheels are unable to be refurbished dependant on the thickness of metal is left on the wheel face. If a re-cut is possible you must be aware that a slight change in shape and/or edge is possible for hard edges of wheels. This can include, but is not limited to, hard edges being slightly more rounded, recesses in the alloys being larger or smaller, a more refined finish to the refurbished wheel against a used wheel. Deeper damage and/or heavy corrosion on the face of a diamond cut alloy wheel can sometimes still be refurbished, however this would increase the amount of metal the diamond cut lathe removes, giving a lesser chance of a future refurbishment.

Wheel refurbishment is just that, it is not a new wheel - occasionally "used" alloys will never look 100% perfect after its refurbishment. We ask all customers to appreciate the work done and the high quality finish that the wheels are at a small fraction of the price that a new wheel would be.

The Motor Spa limited will always endeavour to refurbish the customer’s wheels to provide the best possible finish. After the wheels are inspected and stripped of its old coating, if found to be in a “very bad condition” (in some cases this may mean the wheels are unsuitable for refurbishment) the customer will be informed of any additional charge before work commences and also of any additional time this may incur. We reserve the right to terminate work on wheels that are excessively damaged or corroded.

Very bad' condition is specified as:

• Badly corroded

• Deep damage

• Poor wheel casting

• Damage around the fixing holes - caused by previous improper stud removal

• Previous service or repairs

• Cracked/split/bent

• High Gloss Finishes

Please be aware that certain high gloss finishes, such as ‘Power Silver’ or ‘Gloss Black’ etc, show blemishes more readily. We cannot guarantee a ‘perfect’ finish, but we do guarantee to improve the look of your wheels.

Buckle repairs - All welding & straightening work is undertaken at the owners own risk. Whilst we will not do any repairs that we believe to be unsafe, the responsibility is ultimately that of the customer. Cracks and bends to the face of the wheel can be re un-repairable in certain circumstances. As much as we endeavour to repair every wheel, cracks on the spokes of the wheel are deemed un-safe to fix as its part of the supporting structure of the wheel and we will refuse to weld these particular cracks. The Motor Spa limited do not offer any warranty on weld repairs.

While every care is taken when straightening a wheel, a crack can often occur during the process. If this happens you will also be charged for a weld repair. If the wheel becomes beyond repair during the process it is not the responsibility of The Motor Spa to replace the wheel.

Aftercare - Avoid contact with chemicals for between 6-10 weeks after the repaired area(s) and/or wheel(s) Chemicals include, but not limited to, acidic based cleaners & solvent based cleaners. If in doubt about aftercare please contact us.
Avoid any paint/wheel protection protection for around 8-12 weeks after the repair(s), protection includes, but not limited to, carnauba waxes & ceramic coatings. Failure to comply to this could invalidate guarantees.

COLLECTION OF ITEMS AND/OR VEHICLES:

The Motor Spa will not hold any items and/or vehicles after the date they are finished with*. It is the customers responsibility to collect their items and/or vehicles the day we have made contact with them.
Failure to collect will result in a £20+ VAT PER DAY storage charge until collected. We reserve the rights to then hold items and/or vehicles until the bill is settled.

*unless already agreed a different collection date.

We request that the owner of any vehicle(s) we carry works out on are who collect the vehicle once the works are complete - this is to ensure the vehicle owner can inspect and is satisfied before leaving the premises. We request any issues or queries the owner may have are made clear before the vehicle is driven away so that we can rectify any issues. If the vehicle(s) are collected by a third party we will accept no responsibility for any issues.

Payment & Warranty

At completion of vehicle we will request you inspect the damages area(s) to ensure you are happy with the work carried out. Assuming you are then happy with the repair payment must be made via card or bank transfer.
If you are unhappy with any aspect of the repair a complaint must be raised immediately and we will discuss what you require.

All our repairs are backed by our warranty and we will guarantee our work with 1 years warranty from the date of the works carried out. Warranty covers cracking, blistering or flaking.
If you feel there is an issue with the paintwork we will arrange an inspection of the vehicle and should we agree the issue is caused by our method or a materials problem we will rectify at no cost to the customer.

Warranty does NOT cover 3rd party actions, which includes, but not limited too, malicious damage, damage caused by incorrect cleaning methods/chemicals or damaging your vehicle again in the same area.
